Hazy Daze
When will the haze ever end ? How long more do we have to suffer, breathing in all the smog ? Its starting to have adverse effect on my nose. Got this clogged feeling, must be nasial infection again.
Grr... I wish all these would just end. I really wish to see the clear blue sky and the bright shining sun. God, hear the cry of your people. I am sure you have a heart of mercy for us.
I know the haze in Singapore is not as bad as other countries eg. Malaysia or Indonesia but still, this seems like the never ending problem. Year after year, it is recurring since 1997.
Sometimes I wonder why must they resort to burning the trees to clear the forest. I know if they do it the natural way by torching the forest, the ground would be furtile but I am sure that modern fertilizers can do a similar job too.
I really thank God that at least the government of Indonesia is doing something about the situation, but are they doing enough ? I believe other than taking a reactive role by trying to extinguish the hot spots, they should take a more proactive role of educating the people of the adverse effects of torching the forest. Their actions not just affect the neighbours, they too affect themselves. They had to close the airport in Jakarta and with every closure, airlines that fly to Jakarta have to pay compensations resulting in losses which could be eaily saved.
I really hope that a huge blanket of rain would just fall over Asia, extingush the flames and at the same time clear the air. Make this thing stop...Haze....
